Hello!

Although originally from the Philadelphia area, I ventured into central Pennsylvania to attend The Pennsylvania State University, where I studied art education with a minor in special education. I now reside in Washington D.C. and love the electricity of the city. I am inspired by the expansive collections of art found in museums and the buildings that serve as canvases for street artists.
I enjoy hiking and just about anything outdoors, but recently I have picked up an even more challenging indoor sport: cooking.
I find myself sharing stories with my students about the trials and tribulatoins that I experince in the kitchen attempting to whip up a new recipe. It's something that the students can relate to when they are struggling with an assignment in class. Many students have heard the tale of the apple pie that accidentally turned into apple pie 'soup'. We discuss that although I meant it to turn out quite differently, I learned to pay closer attention to the measuring club labels in the future and was able still able to enjoy it (just with a spoon instead of a fork). My students and I always agree that in the end it was still a success, because it all tastes good with ice cream.
