The art and music teachers teamed up to create usable instruments. Ms Ellert's artists created rain sticks using recycled materials that were then used in the 4th grade music concert! Collaboration at its finest.

Students decoded artwork from the Lascaux Caves in France! We then pretended to be cave people as we drew our sacred animals in classroom 'caves'

Class Plane

Students worked collaboratively to design a class plane to 'travel around the world' in. Sections of the plane were designed and then fit together. This plane then became a class trophy in a way in that each student expressed pride in this creation.

Postcard Project

Throughout the semester, our friends and family would send in postcards from all around the United States, and even a few international. Students would design their own postcard and write a response to our pen pals!

Printmaking

Students discussed snow and how both people and animals make tracks while traveling. They explored a new material and were able to make prints of tracks, or the animals that make them, to mimic the "stamp" that feet make in the snow. Click for full lesson plan!
